Suggestions on types of swimming trunks?

I'd say my question is more geared toward men, really. Our indoor public swimming pool is soon about to open again, after being closed from Covid. I am looking forward to going. I am just curious what brand and/or type of swimming trunks you recommend for comfort and style for regular water fun and lap swimming. I’ve never been a fan of Speedos, but I know there are quite a few other kinds and brands out there. What do you like best? Just curious to know.

    Agreed. Even on guys with fit physiques, I don't find them flattering. I've never worn one -- maybe they're comfortable. And with competitive swimming, I'd think they'd help being all "streamlined" or whatever. 
    I don't know what I'm saying. :)

      I’ve never worn a Speedo either, I doubt I ever will (zero interest, zero incentive), just by looking at them, I imagine it feels much like wearing bikini briefs.

    There's a certain brand of bikini briefs I wear (I think they'd be called bikini briefs) called "Contour" by undergear (International Male) - - I don't think the company exists anymore. Anyway, they're really comfortable but I wouldn't want to go swimming in such a design. :)

      Oh, good point. I agree with you that briefs aren’t adequate for swimming, I was just referring to how Speedos might be similar in feel, but you’re right in that briefs wouldn’t be tight enough to stay on while moving around under water.

    It's funny -- if anything, the swimming suits I wear are on the looser side (with a supporter underneath). 

    And what I meant in my comment was that I would probably be not so comfortable, while swimming in public, wearing a "tight" design like a Speedo. I like the comfort of that tight-yet-comfortable style for that "undergear" underwear I mentioned but only as underwear, not while swimming in public, ha! ;)

    You're funny. :)  I'm going to assume that Nightwolf is not a competitive swimmer.  I know they're very popular in Europe, but to me guys who wear them are just advertising their junk.

    Haha, not a competitive swimmer, just go for fun and exercise really. But I agree, I only want trunks that are good and comfortable for swimming, not to show off in. :)
