    "Over the river . . .

       and through the woods . . .

           give me that map."

"Nor love thy life, nor hate; but what thou livest, live well; how long, or short, permit to Heaven."

I'm not sure what the criteria here are, but I like this from John Milton. As well as yours and Welby's!

I never heard that Milton quote. I find it interesting that I take much comfort in wishing myself and others to be well.

I'm glad you liked my other answer, too. I forget the actual Laurie Anderson song title because the phrase happens in a very long "live" album (four full-length CDs) and she says that in the middle of a long set. If I figure it out, I'll try to remember to let you know. Her delivery is perfect, too, ha! she even has a song on that same live set called 'Over the River' but that phrase is not in it, ha.

It's from Paradise Lost - the lines that stuck with me the most, throughout the twelve "books." With you, I get the sense that wishing others well isn't just about saying the words; and that's appreciated :)

I totally agree about the song and Doris Day. I just listened to the song again. :)

And then I thought of this movie - - a MUST see if you haven't seen it -  especially if you like Doris Day. Day is fantastic in it.
Granted, I saw the movie when I was pretty young, but the movie blew me away! Great in so many ways to me. :)

That's one of my favourites too and I used to have the phrase, Que Sera Sera on my desktop monitor, back in the day when people had desktops more than laptops. I find it very inspirational

I saw you deleted one of your replies to me. I'm sorry if I said something wrong when I didn't understand.

You didn't Welby. I'm just bloodthirsty and ruthless brother. I deal with why I tend that way:) This post was edited by CosmicWunderkind at December 1, 2020 5:52 PM MST
