    I don't believe that's true unless a Michigander bought the ticket in Maryland.  I believe there were three or four miillon dollar winners, though.

    That's why I asked the question L. Because it was announced. So I am confused a bit about your initial response. But then I confuse easily. Thank you for your reply.

    The confusion was in the original news report that said the winner was from Maryland.  That was not true unless what I heard was that there was a $1 million dollar winner from MD, which could have happened as I heard it ion the radio when I was n the car.

    I just saw this on Yahoo.  The report is from Reuters and the date was Friday, 1/22.  This may be where my confusion came from.  

    "A Powerball ticket worth $731.1 million was sold this week to someone in a tiny, remote town in western Maryland who has 182 days to claim the prize."

    Is MEGA MILLIONS and POWERBALL the same or different? Thank you for your reply L and the link. I only ever saw the MICHIGAN MEGA MILLION so your response made no sense to me. Now it does. Thank you for the explanation/clarification.

    They are two different games.  One is played on Tuesday and one on Saturday.
