Forgiving is for us, ourselves.  We cannot move forward positively in our lives otherwise.

It's the only part we can control, really.

Interesting. I suppose it depends on who we surround ourselves with?

I try not to do things that require forgiveness from others.  If that does happen, it was not my intention to hurt that person and having them forgive me would be important.  As for others requiring forgiveness from me, it would depend on how hurtful the act was.  There are some things I could/would not forgive.

Sometimes there are things we do in life that unintentionally or inadvertently cause slights, or are interpreted by others in ways that they find fault. Has that ever been your experience?

I'm sure I've disappointed some folks along the way but, as you said, it was not intentional.  Sometimes, people have an expectation of what you should be or how you should act that is unrealistic and above all, I believe one must be true to one's self.

I'm the same, but I know I don't always succeed in everyone's eyes. I disappoint people at times, as I'm sometimes disappointed by others. I don't hold grudges, but I do become wary.

Being dependable and trustworthy is important to me.

We can't always live up to what others would like us to be.  We have to be our own person and like who we are, even if that means others are disappointed.  If I'm hurt badly enough by someone I trust, I do hold a grudge and I hold it for a very long time.  Being dependable and trustworthy is very important to me, too.

This is about you turning down my invitation to the No-Tell Motel, isn’t it? Don’t worry, I didn’t hold a grudge against you about it, I merely moved your time slot around on the schedule, so the offer is still open.

Have you ever been to a No-Tell Motel, Randy? They are NOT that nice.

Apparently you haven’t sampled as many variations of them as . . . wait, there I go again wasting time with words when actions work better. Throw a toothbrush in your purse and be ready for me to swing by and pick you up.

P.S. I forgive you. (See how easy that was?)

I find it does no good to hold grudges.  I forgive very easily.  If I do something wrong to someone I try to make amends if possible. This post was edited by my2cents at April 3, 2021 7:59 AM MDT
