I believe it was built around 1965. It's still there and in use.

When I graduated high school, it was 62 years old. As of this typing, it's now 96 years old.

    Built in 1886.
Still standing and being used as a courthouse, built of granite.

The high school I went to was built in 1961, ase the one downtown (built in 1923) was overcrowded.  My high school is still there, although it's a lot bigger now (they keep adding on new wings).

The high school I went to was built in 1957.  However, the freshman in the district have their own building that was the original high school that was originally built in 1918. This post was edited by ONeg-84 at June 15, 2021 4:29 PM MDT

It was built in 1911, and I believe it underwent many renovations and/or additions over the decades. [Sidebar: no, I did NOT attend it in 1912. Grrrrrrr.] It was a very large building with several wings and auxiliaries, but I don’t recall any specific separate buildings that were part of the original construction.

A year before I went to that school, yet another massive rebuild was begun.  One thing it addressed was the fact that the indoor basketball court was located on the second floor, covering about one fourth of that floor’s overall space. I do not know if that was its space’s original use from 1911, but there were some classrooms and offices directly under the court, so during gym classes, practices or games, the noise endured on the first floor was deafening, annoying, and didn’t allow for anything to get done. A large gym building was being erected that had two indoor basketball courts among other amenities, most importantly, they were on the first floor.

When the construction workers tore open one of the walls of the old gym, dozens of artifacts were found inside of them. Textbooks, notebooks, writing implements, clothing articles, an old fashioned portable camera, money (both paper and coins), etc.  The school staff immediately took over and inventoried the items, cataloged them, and began an investigation to figure out how old they were. It was determined that they came from approximately 1940, 1941, or 1942, based on names and dates that they contained. The money was a minuscule and/or paltry amount. Of the items that belonged to specific people, efforts were made to track the people down and return them (I don’t know the outcomes). The other items were split between the school’s trophy display cases and a time capsule that was already planned to commemorate the closing of the old gym. It was buried under the new flagpole that went in front of the new gym building.  I do not remember if it was scheduled to be open in 25 years or 50 years. The student-run newspaper carried several updates about the whole episode over several issues.

My family moved before I graduated high school, so I started anew somewhere else.  I joined the military after high school, and have never lived in my hometown since. I do not know the current fate of my old high school.

It was built in 1923 and is still in use as a magnet school.  My parents went to the same high school as I.  It is a beautiful school.

  • It was built in 1960. I graduated in 2010. It's still there and doing well, as far as I know.
