What was something unexpected when you went on a school field trip?

My class visited a museum on a school field trip.  We heard very shocking news when we left the museum:  the president was shot!  We returned to school to find the entire student body assembled in the school yard.  The school principal announced: "President Kennedy is dead."  

The date was November 22, 1963
