Do you lower the toilet seat after completing "business?"

I lower the toilet seat and the toilet lid after completing "business."

I completely close it so a cat won't accidentally fall in.

Usually. My granddaughter is "right now", she hasn't learned her body signals yet, so the child adapter seat goes back up after anybody else uses it.

What a mundane thing to ask. Does it seriously matter? I will grant you that it's  better than politics.

  • It matters to some people.  I grew up in a family of five:  three males and two females.  My mother always reminded my father, my brother and me to lower the toilet seat after we males took care of "business."

    I do, yes.
    And I live alone.

And, unlike Shuhak's feline housemate, mine has no interest in the bathroom.

What is it with women and toilet seats? I learned how to lift it, they should be able to learn how to lower it. Yes, I always lower it.

I've sort of thought that, too; and wondered why raised-or-lowered toilet seats are a big-enough deal that we all know about it.

  • Yes, I always have. It has nothing to do with women insisting on it, it's just that I've always felt the default state of a toilet should be the lid closed.

I always put the lid down because it helps prevent the spread of airborne germs. Cheers! This post was edited by Nanoose at August 27, 2021 8:30 AM MDT
