    I am hopeless - -

I got all ready for one of your jokes.  :)

Not knowing the song lyrics closely at all, I figured these strange lyrics were some fun 'mis-heard' lyrics. (Like "pork pie" which I think you once joked with me about from The Cars' "Drive").
I listened to "Come Together" and thought, "Those words are exactly what they sound like he's singing. I wonder what the real lyrics are?"

And then I kept waiting for something to sound like "Police sketch artist: What?"

I then searched the song lyrics, saw that those are, indeed,  the lyrics -- and, finally, I got the joke.

    Yes, I know - - I'm hopeless.  :)

I have WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY more than one song.

But this song is the one that came first  to my mind.

Tanita Tikaram slays me in the best of ways.
    Always.
And this song  -- I love falling into it.

    "It All Came Back Today"

Well if you want to be grateful to me once again I suggest you listen to Patti Smith's song Gloria. Here is a little taste of the song and a example of how deep Patti Smith's love goes for someone she cares about. Cheers!

I was at the stadium - there were twenty thousand girls called their names out to me Marie and Ruth but to tell you the truth I didn't hear them I didn't see I let my eyes rise to the big tower clock and I heard those bells chimin' in my heart going ding dong ding dong ding dong ding dong ding dong ding dong ding dong ding dong.

It's all good to me! Similar to Hippy Chick, I didn't know of Smith's song, either. I've been listening - - I like this song a lot, too!  :)  Another round of thanks to you.  :)

None, really. I like far too many songs across numerous genres and spanning several decades to pinpoint a single one or even several dozen songs that I like enough to hear them repeatedly. To me, music is similar to food in that I can’t even imagine naming just one that I would like to the point that you describe.

As with Randy, I too have many 'favorite' songs to pick one to listen to over and over.
