Have you seen the link to get free home Covid tests?

The site is COVIDTests.gov.  They will provide four free home test kits.  However, being that they are being sent via the US Postal Service, it will take 7-12 days for them to arrive.  At that point, you will either have gotten over Covid, been hospitalized or dead.

    I saw it. I'm going there today. 7-12 days is better than not at all. And I just spent $50 for four tests. My wife tossed the receipt.

    If she paid by credit card, you might have a shot at reimbursement.  Maybe the store can supply a duplicate receipt.

    I'm pretty sure you can get a duplicate receipt from your credit card company.  They may even be able to email it to you.

    I wouldn't trust the "free" tests.

    My friend took 5 of those "free" tests from the county, and got positive results ... while the Abbott Labs test gave negative results, at the same time.  Her family members also got positive test results from those kits, and negative results at the doctor's office and hospital.

    I suppose that with any home test, how it's administered.  They tell you it's not 100% reliable.

    Their stated accuracy is supposed to be over 90%.
    So when a dozen people have 100% false positives from multiple tests, that tells me the accuracy is nowhere near what it claims.
    The tests were from different batches, even - so they can't claim it was a "bad batch".
    And the tests were administered by healthcare professionals, following the directions - so it's also not how they were administered.

    Personally, I believe the "control" portion of the test strip "leaked" into the "test" portion - causing the false positives.
    Which would make it a production issue and explain why so many tests, across multiple batches, were flawed.

    I forsee a lot of people videoing themselves  testing things like fruit and drinks and posting the results.  Home tests have a reputation for false positives.

    You can pick them up here - two free RAT tests per person. When my daughter was diagnosed positive, we all did a PCR test (negative), then the RAT test six days later (also negative).
    We're all double vaxxed, my daughter's symptoms were analogous to a mild case of flu. The client she caught it from was unvaccinated and ended up in ICU.
