Yes, I lived near a mobile home factory a long time ago when CB radios were popular. The drivers moving the homes were called 'shanty shakers' on the radio.
Hundreds of times. There was a time when my home state didn't allow mobile homes to be transported on its highways. You could sell them. You could own them. You could live in them. We wondered how the homes got from factories to people's property or mobile home parks. Obviously it was done via midnight requisition plus cash. The law is now changed. The surrounding states complained about having to drive around my state. When I was in school our pornography law was that you could own it but you couldn't sell it or transport it in the state. Same situation. If you could get your hands on it and get it to your house you were in the clear. Crazy legislatures!
More accurately "portable" than "mobile", but yes, many times to and from the holiday and residential parks around here.
Not as wide as that in the photo though. A lot of portable buildings are divided down the centre, and carried half on one trailer, so can be moved along the ordinary roads without too much trouble.
