Potentially, yes. It all depends on how quickly and by how much we reduce greenhouse gases and mitigate the effects we are now experiencing. We have the technology. We can invent more and better. Every bit of action counts. But it will take all countries around the world acting and co-operating. Many animal and plant species have already gone extinct. Humanity, despite its resourcefulness, could experience starvation if global warming gets too high for agriculture.
After all. I peruse in reading, statements stuck in my craw and one is that areas of the earth will be uninhabitable at a certain point unless. But that is anybody's guess.
