    If its a sandwich I cut it corner to corner.  Depending on how you place the pieces of bread it could or could not be in half, therefore it could not be cut in two because the sides, could be uneven.  Or not.

    By definition, cutting it down the middle means both parts are equal.

    What if you cut a sandwich that has been made with both "tops" of the bread facing the same way.  There would be a slight overhang on one side. Unless you cut it the other way with would negate my answer, so I'm ignoring that possibility.

      Technically, a cut down the middle of certain things might not mean both sides are equal. For instance, cutting a hard boiled egg widthwise:
