    Since it is related to smallpox and the sores are bigger, let's call it largepox.

    I think they should name it something really scary so that people don't take it as lightly as they did with covid. Maybe something like - The big ugly red marks all over your body virus.  Cheers and happy weekend!

    The WHO wants to rename viruses that are named for places and animals. They may have a good reason. Before COVID-19 was COVID-19, it was the Wuhan Virus. There was violence against Chinese people. Monkeypox is spread by human contact, but now people are beating and killing monkeys.

    I think I’d give it a one-syllable plural word with an article in front of it, something like “the sneebs”.  It sounds like a disease but doesn’t sound too close to other diseases.
