My future son-in-law did one of those stupid FB posts where you change the number and nominate someone - he asked me to send the 22th picture in my camera roll. I posted this:

It was the only twenty tooth picture I could find.

You realize it was intentionally written that way, right?

    :(

Obviously. But I correct 'em as I see 'em. Intentional or not, you can't go easy on these scofflaws or they'll walk all over you.

No poetic license, no accounting for artistic leeway? I don’t roll that way, Dude! Grrrrrrr.

    :(

We are sworn to uphold and enforce all grammar and spelling laws. Never lose sight of that. Illegal is illegal. Give people an inch and it will be the downfall of society as we know it. Grrrrr.

It's an expression and not incorrect in that context. Grrrrr.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, that’s how you play it. No one else can do it without you citing them, but you can justify doing it yourself. Not hypocritical at all.

Again, mine was a figure of speech. Element's was an intentional error. He may have thought he was being funny or something.

Again, I know why and how you meant yours, and I know why and how he meant his. Your position is that his deserves a citation and yours does not. My position differs, and I think you’re justifying your action while ignoring that he has fair justification for his: the entire point of his relies on the way he used the word, it was completely meant to be tongue-in-cheek. Perhaps (based on the snide way you stated he was trying to be funny) you lack a sense of humor, I do not know.

Me not finding his joke funny does not equate to lacking a sense of humor. In my opinion, it was a lame attempt. You are certainly entitled to disagree.

We don't celebrate. I'll probably be shoveling snow. Have you ever seen it?

Have I seen snow? Rarely. Can count the times.
    - when I was 4 and our family went to the ski fields of Mount Kosciuszko (NSW).
    - when 21 as a student in London, UK during the coldest winter on record,
.......tobogganing down the hill at Green Hill Observatory
    - while cycling along the lowers foothills of Snowdonia in Wales
    - driving through and pausing in Switzerland's Susten Pass on the way to Geneva
    - in my 30's hiking along the back of Mount Buffalo (Victoria) in mid-Summer - got hypothermia

I've never had to shovel snow.
I don't envy you the hard yakka of having to dig your way out just to get to food and groceries at the nearest shop.
I've been watching the increasing severity and changeability of extreme weather events in your neck of the woods.

We're not immune here either. But the kinds are different: cyclones, floods, droughts and bushfires - all of catastrophic proportions.

No, but my planter of annuals is officially dead. If I leave it on the porch, will that count as a spooky decoration?

I do not celebrate halloween.  I used to put up outdoor christmas lights, but due to an electrical problem I had to quit.  I never put up christmas decorations.

If yesterday was the oneth of October, then today must be the twoth of October, correct? (Or is that too much of a mouthful?)
