When (if) you make pasta sauce, do you make it from scratch or do you cheat and use a jarred sauce?

I used to make my own spaghetti sauce and I thought it was worth the effort. Then one day,  a friend asked me if it was Ragu. I was offended, and decided I would try Ragu and prove to myself that my friend was an idiot. But, I found out that Ragu wasn't that different from my own recipe. So, I stopped making my own.

I prefer pesto sauce on my pasta and Barilla makes a really good one, so there's no point in making it myself.

I make it myself usually.  I do keep some Classico pasta sauce in the pantry for quick meals.  That is the best bottled sauce I know of but I actually buy it exclusively to get the real mason jar with real sealing screw-on lid.  I have a cabinet full of those glass jars.  Those and Smucker's natural peanut butter jars are my favorite containers for left-overs to refrigerate or freeze.

I cheat a little. Jarred sauce plus my own fiddles.
