Of the natural* terrain features where you live, what are some interesting or extraordinary facts?

    It may not be interesting or surprising, but I had lived in this apartment building for many years when I discovered on Google Maps that the L shaped strip of land (covered in trees and brush) running alongside and behind our buildings is designated "wildlife preserve". I occasionally thought it odd that no building had been built on this busy local street. I was surprised!

      While the preservation designation is man-made entity, based on your description of the terrain feature itself, it does not appear to be, or may not appear to be man made. I believe it counts, thank you for participating.

    The place can't decide whether it's the city or the country but the country sure has been destroyed though...pollution.

    And for my entire life people have called me strange because I prefer gray, cloudy skies weather and that my favorite color is brown?

    That photo is just creepy to me, plain ol' over-the-top creepy. Borderline stupid to me, even.
    Just getting married in such a setting would creep me -- let alone having the bride hold up a living-dead zombie boy in front of her.

    In the photo, the people are the "unnatural feature". I clipped the photo from the actual ad for the wedding venue. You're right, the color scheme is gray and brown! I don't think I'd care to attend an underground wedding. Some environments make me claustrophobic.

    This is fascinating to me -- once you mentioned  the color combinations (and your P.S. - - I love the same thing!) - - I actually find the colors in the photo very nice! It helps me a bit now dealing with my creeped-out feelings when I look at the photo.

    I don't know if they still do it but when I was a school kid, every class had a field trip to the caves. I remember the elevator, the boat ride, and the heart in the floor seen in the wedding photo. If you ever come to New York State, you can book a tour on line.,

    Me, again -- I admit I love going into, and touring, underground caves -- it's just the dressed-up formality of a wedding ceremony that gets to me, ha. It just seems strange to me for some reason and I don't know why.
     Because why shouldn't people in love get married in beautiful places? And every cave in which I've been is beautiful.

    I don't have an answer for myself.  :)

    It's a seaport but the climate is more akin to the inland. Way up a very narrow gulf, so any winds come across land.
