    Before you go to where you were supposed to be you would be fried to a crisp. Our technology is not advanced enough to safely beam you up.  I'm not sure if it ever will be.  By that time there will be another way to get from one place to another safely.     My guess is that the oil companies do ever thing in their power to make sure that teleportation technology never materializes. They would lose a lot of money if cargo and people could just be beamed around the world. Cheers!
