What is your favorite Christmas song?

I have two, "All I Want for Christmas is You" by Mariah Carey and "O, Holy Night" by Josh Groban.

    Father Christmas by The Kinks.

It seems a little Grinchy at first but the true spirit of Christmas  comes out in the end.

    Cheers!

    :)
I admit I really didn't know this song too much until I saw your answer here.

I first looked up the song lyrics. from lyrics alone, I admit I don't believe any true spirit of Christmas comes through to me at any point.
I then watched the music video while listening and it all made me like the lyrics better; I like the group's performance in video, too.
I still find it pretty nasty all-around but I like the music and The Kinks' performance. :)

"Come On Christmas"      written and performed by Dwight Yoakam

"THE saddest Christmas song" for me and it's a favorite of mine.

So beautiful to me, and with Dwight Yoakam's understated performance, it's flawless to me.

Includes a beautifully understated trumpet solo, too.

    EDIT:
And my unasked-for thoughts on your two choices.  :)

I'm not a Mariah Carrey fan and I admit that though I respect her talent and voice, I don't like what she does with her voice (the usual extreme high range, high-screeching at some point in almost every song).  I also, though, do see and hear why this song is a huge deservedly- famous song.

I incredibly respect and like Josh Groban's  voice. However, I do not like this song at all - - only for the fact (in my opinion) that I find that the only reason people record or perform this song is to get to that last high note and hold onto it forEVERRRR  ..  " O night, Dee - -- VIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNE," i.e., " to show off," in my opinion.
To Groban's credit, though, he does not overly do that with hsi version. And his voice is so great to me. He makes me enjoy listening to the song.  :)

I enjoyed your question and listening to the answers thus far.
    :)

Thank you, Welby.  We all have different tastes in music.  Admittedly, this is probably the only song done by Ms. Carey that I could identify.  Josh Groban has been a favorite of mine for a long time.

If Bob Geldof and Midge Ure hadn't done this, USA for Africa wouldn't have happened either. It was the inspiration for Lionel Richie to organise one across the pond. And that led directly to the first worldwide concert to raise funds for famine relief - Live Aid. You can almost forgive Geldof for letting his wife give their daughters ridiculous names.

You can do a Hanukkah one.

(Are there any such thing as Hanukkah carols?)
