Then something would be really screwed up with our understanding of the laws of physics...;-D...

The TV show ET would cease to exist.

  • Define shine?  Is it just visible light or any kind of energy radiation across the entire spectrum?
Neutron Stars emit very little to no visible light.  Most of their energy emissions fall into the x-ray spectrum and are very hard to detect because they the emit so little.

There is also the theoretical black dwarf.  Which has a lot of computational basis to exist but has of yet to be discovered.

Of course black stars are invisible...they are black.

Stars shining are as certain as death and taxes

Aren't those words from a song? I don't know of the song at the moment but I swear I'm hearing them in my head from a song.
    :)

I listened to the song twice but didn't hear words about stars shining.
    :)
    Unless I somehow missed them.
In any case, it's all good because I had never heard this song and I like it!

"Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the stars refuse to shine
Out of the back you fall in time
    I somehow find
    You and I collide"

It's part of the chorus the second time it's sung.

The song doesn't say "what if." It says "Even the stars refuse to shine..." The "what if" was added by me in the sense that 1) I'd get some fun answers 2) If anyone knew the song, they'd see the message of hope. The stars may refuse to shine, but people will still collide, even in the darkest of times.

The song was a chart-topper in 2004. Glad you liked it. :)
