Drug free yes, there was drunkenness though. my mother had a bf who was often drunk and violent.. To be fair though that is relatively rare here as I think most are fortunate enough to grow up in a relatively normal environment. I would distinguish moderate use of alcohol from abuse of alc where people are often drunk/incapacitated or behaving irresponsibly

Yes, and when I grew up I hear all about how drugs and alcohol ruin families. Sure, maybe in lots of families. My family is toxic without them. They're completely teetotalers. But then again lot of families around here are that way, and still destructive.

I did. It might have been better with  drugs and alcohol.

Papa liked beer and whiskey, and yes, it killed him. His children and wife avoided the stuff.

Yes. Only once did I see a neighbor bring beer to the house. We never had it around. No drugs were used either.
Not a religious thing. We were not religious. Just never had it around.

  • My dad has always liked beer and my parents would drink a little sometimes at dinner, but I never saw either of my parents drunk until I was an adult (my mom and I drank together a couple months ago. It was awkward lol). As for drugs, nothing beyond medications.

Yes . Any alcohol was strictly medicinal.

  • "Yes"  Nicotine is not a drug, it's a poison.
