    No transport necessary. Just open the lid on the cesspool. And not just in Virginia either.  

    When a message of hate is being preached straight from the top, people take that as tacit permission to conduct themselves in sad, awful ways.  

    Goes well beyond party to the core of who we are as human beings.

    Now he's busy condemning the situation as though he doesn't have the foggiest notion of his role as gatekeeper.

    But as I've said before, I truly believe the man is mentally ill. Scary to think how far he'd have to go before people would deem him unfit to carry out his duties as President.

    At least one person is dead after a driver intentionally plowed into a group of anti-fascist protesters in Charlottesville, Virginia, after violent clashes erupted between white nationalists and activists on Saturday.

    I am afraid I don't know anything about it.. see this is were a certain poster on here is invaluable.. I was alerted to the fact that *something* happened because of one of this person's posts.. Now I know to watch out for a story. it wasn't in the Times today - not that I've kept abreast of the updates.. I expect I will read all about it in tomorrow's version... hmm I somehow suspect I won't like what I read?

  • Don't blame the state. Many of the people there came from across the country. They have seized upon Charlottesville, a fairly liberal college town, because of their decision to remove Confederate imagery from their town, and made it a site of street-fighting culture war battles. I won't be blaming Virginia for this, but I will be blaming so-called "white nationalists".
