    exactly as carbon product says.
The mind always wants to be engaged in thought.
But when the mind is still, with no thoughts running through it
    the Ego can dissolve,
and one is present within the presence.
Meditation is good for experiencing the presence.
    Our attachment to everything
    keeps the mind engaged
through meditation we can still the mind.

  • I'll let you know if I ever figure that out.
I have a similar problem in that I can't forget the things my ex did to me, but I feel like it gets a little better over time and once I am well enough to start dating again then thoughts of my ex should fade away.
Simply put, I have to replace her with someone who treats me better.

I don't know your situation, but maybe you can replace whatever it is that's haunting you with someone or something better for you so you can move forward?
    Good luck man. : )
