Yes, I'd say that's accurate. The establishment is getting desperate. The risk of assassination is mounting. I think they're unlikely to do it with a direct attack. That would make him a martyr to the right and is likely to backfire badly. Impeachment on phony allegations is also unlikely for the same reasons.

The system is likely to slow poison him and try to use the 25th amendment to remove him on health grounds.

Alternatively the deep state might stage a terror attack and kill the entire congress so the establishment can regain control by activating the continuity of government protocols. TV shows like Designated Survivor are putting that scenario into the public consciousness to get the population ready.
