Because Obama tried to destroy the United States. Trump is trying to make it great again.

Puh-leese. Even Nixon was better than Trump - hell, Dubya was more competent. Bush2's gaffes were largely due to difficulties with tge autocue, he's dyslexic almost to the point of illiteracy. Trump doesn't have that affliction, he's just senile.

And you base that on living in the USA during both time periods, of course. Or not so much I'm betting.

The only good thing that dog turd Obummer did was move Jimmy Carter up one notch from the absolute bottom of the scale, unless you consider setting the middle east on fire a good thing; that Arab spring thing, lets not forget what happened there Egypt, Libya, and Syria). Or maybe giving the Iranians access to nuclear materials and the necessary time to complete their nuclear program with NO restrictions on their development of ICBM's is a good thing, while they help the North Koreans with the same (perhaps Australian pitchblende is finding its way to Iran now so it may be a good thing in your eyes?) And now that the Iranians have that planeload of cash that Obummer sent them they can pay for that pitchblende and fund their favorite hobby, terrorism. (How many people were killed this weekend in Mogadishu?). But that's OK, just add that to the US National debt, which Obummer managed to double to, what, 18 TRILLION dollars (it's north of 20 trillion at he moment) to pay back his "friends" that helped him get elected (just how well is Solyndra stock doing on the market at the moment?). Can't wait to see what happens to middle-class America when the interest rates start to climb to a point that the service on that debt exceeds the annual tax revenues, T bills are already starting to be shunned by investors . . .  Oh, and the Healthcare Insurance Carrier and Big Pharma Guaranteed Windfall Profit Act, Obummercare, which again, screwed middle America. Yep a great president Obummer was, just not for the country that elected him to serve as theirs. But great for that country's enemies . . .

(Oh, by the way, Nixon pulled the US out of that Democrat mess called the "Vietnam conflict" and opened diplomatic relations with China; yep, a real bastard, NOT.) This post was edited by my2cents at October 18, 2017 7:45 PM MDT

Australia doesn't export pitchblende, our ore is mined from hard rock and we don't export raw ore either, but yellowcake (U3O8). Not to Iran, which also DROPPED its nuclear weapons program, largely thanks to Obama. May be starting it up again due to Trump's rhetoric and rampant xenophobia.
The USA is the ONLY First World nation that does not have universal health care. The only one. Stephen Hawking once credited the UK's National Health Service with his longevity, stating that if he'd been American, he'd be long dead by now.
US borrowing increased due to various stimuli introduced to kickstart an economy that was nosediving due to Bush2's GFC.
Nixon was a crook, but he did pull the US out of Vietnam (after campaigning on a "Victory in Viet Nam" slogan in 1972) and created the Environmental Protection Agency which Trump is hell bent on dismantling. Trump is also driving a wedge into Sino-US relations by accusing them of all sorts of mopery and dopery, including inventing Global Warming.

Really? You don't export pitchblende or yellowcake? You must be using it all in your own nuclear power plants, OH, WAIT . . . you don't have those anymore (maybe Australia has their own weapons programs, which they may need now that North Korea has made direct threats against them). And of course Australia doesn't sell it to Iran (wink, wink, nudge nudge). They merely sell it to intermediaries that, in turn, make those sales to Iran and to North Korea, perhaps through other intermediaries.

Of course Iran has dropped their weapons program (wink, wink, nudge nudge). After all, they said so, and it's been verified by . . . oh, wait. That "claim" hasn't been verified by ANYONE as they don't submit to that part of "the agreement" (which in, and of itself, should void the agreement). But that would explain why they're feverishly working on an ICBM missile program, too; I think that they tested one a week or two back, that can easily reach the Aussies (which the geniuses in the last administration ignored in their little "deal", by the way). Maybe they're looking to have a manned space program because that's the primary use of ICBM's . . . oh, wait . . . And it's all now being paid for with that planeload of cash that Obummer sent to them . . .

"Universal Health Care"? Can you actually define that "buzzphrase"? No? Or are you just trying really had to be a comedian. The President has little, if anything to do with healthcare in the USA to begin with, by the way. But I know that since Congress passed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act I've personally lost all access to healthcare. There's nothing affordable about it. But, perhaps, you can show anywhere in that law that makes actual healthcare more "affordable" or does anything to "protect" patients. I'll be waiting with breathless anticipation for your response.

And that Hawking story . . . fake news. Think about it. If Hawking were in the USA he would still be a tenured professor at a major University with Cadillac health-care coverage, probably much better than what he has now. He's a theoretical physics superstar after all. But the REAL reason for his longevity is that he has a rare form of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, the early onset kind. For some reason patients with that form of the disease tend to linger for many years. Basic nursing care is all it takes to keep him alive.

Spending just didn't increase. Obummer and the Democrats DOUBLED the National Debt, increased it more than all his predecessors combined. And that MIGHT have been OK if the borrowed monies were actually used to stimulate the economy, but they weren't. (Perhaps you can give some examples of where those monies were well spent?) No, it was all a circus sideshow to make up for the DEMOCRATS crashing the economy by causing the housing crisis. That would be Bill Clinton, and Barney Frank and the other Democrat a**hats, most of whom were given mortgages from the lending institutions that benefited, and at VERY preferential rates and terms.  It had little to do with the Bush years.

You say Nixon was a crook? What crimes was he guilty of?

The EPA does need to go away. In the beginning it did some very good things but now it does things like banning development of land to protect an endangered frog species that can only be found three States away and has NEVER existed on the land being "protected".

China does such wonderful things as under-reporting their annual coal usage by billions of tons. If we do follow the BS about global climate change (global "warming" is sooo last year) and credit CO2 with creating the problem then how much more CO2 into the atmosphere does that discrepancy in reporting represent? So either China is a major source of "global climate change" with all that CO2, or no one generating CO2 is "contributing" to "the problem". You can't have it both ways, unless you're a "liberal", I suppose . . .

    My first reply never posted.

Trump is more practical and respects the history of this country and its institutions.  Which Obama did not seem to care about. Obama was more judicious in editing himself but burdened us with that health care law which if left untouched bids fair to bring down the country.  Which may have been his aim.  Trump understands that people are not always angels.

The USA is the ONLY First World nation that does not have universal health care. The only one. Australia, the UK and Germany all have conservative governments in power atm, all have universal health care.

Can you define that buzzterm "universal healthcare"?

Keep in mind too that the USA underwrites those cheap drug prices you enjoy. Big Pharma gouges the people of the USA to underwrite the losses of selling drugs at to those slackers you describe.  This post was edited by Salt and Red Pepper at October 18, 2017 11:19 AM MDT
