Because the world keep changing at the same pace it always did and it gets harder and harder to keep up with it as you grow older.
And the younguns easily keep up with it, and revel in telling us how easy it all is.
Growing old is very frustrating. That is one reason to get grumpy :-))

We've been around long enough to have learned that this world is a dangerous place.

My generation would more likely be your grandparents and I can assure you that any child of mine would have raised their children to have manners.

  • my grandma is actually the most rude of all of us

also i deal with people her age every day due the kind of clientele we attract at my work , and they are by far the most rude and entitled

It's too bad you have condemned an entire group of people based on just the ones you've dealt with.  We aren't all that way.

  • You tell 'em Spunky. Quite the opposite has been true for me. I've mellowed out and tend more to roll with the punches. When I was younger, I threw the punches.

I've mellowed some myself.  At this point, I'm more likely to walk away from and totally ignore someone than get into an argument with them.

I am not responsible what everyone in my generation does or how they treat anyone else.  I can only speak for myself, the same applies to millennials.  There are some good and some not so good.  Perhaps my generation doesn't care for the way many millennials treat us as though we are useless, behind the times, as though having manners and not being rude is an annoyance.  There are several millennials in my family, all of whom were raised well and who treat others with the respect they wish to be accorded.

    Perfect example.
It baffles us why you would be so uncivil to someone simply because of their choice of phones.
Your first response: Assault.  That isn't funny.  That is flat-out, scary.

There is an extremely slim chance an older person using a flip phone is going to violate you or impose any danger.

I carry a bag of old phones to throw at Millennials. They never see me because they can't look up from their iPhones.
