I didn't know about Shalom having the dual meaning but I did know about Aloha. I'm sure you know my son lives in Honolulu and Old School did too for 7 years. So when you're done with someone or someone is done with you do you ever go back and pick up where you left off? I don't see the point.  For me once a door is closed there is no reason to open it again. I move on. Some don't feel that way I guess. Thank you for your reply Ele!  :) This post was edited by RosieG at November 4, 2017 6:58 AM MDT

That is so nice to hear. Good for the two of you. I have never understood the extremes in hostility/animosity/hatred that some exes feel for each other. I mean they loved each other once. Unless a spouse really betrayed you very badly and harmed you a great deal. But sometimes you just grow in different directions and want different things as time goes by. That happens.  It happened to me so I can relate. Thank you for your reply! :)

We can talk chemistry and our kids. She retired as the chief chemist from our water department and keeps me up on our algae problem in Lake Erie, which she is also involved with at our University.

That is so NICE Ele. Really. You're friends. You keep in touch. You chat about things as all friends do. Once again good for you and for her too! You have an algae problem? Isn't algae something that comes from warmth? Can algae survive in cold waters? How warm IS Lake Erie? Inquiring minds wanna know. Thank you for your reply m'dear!  :)
