You are talking about politics. Anything can be a fact if you keep saying it, and nothing is a fact if you can't be forced to admit it.

If Americans knew those facts, they would argue about them. One side would demand something about "sheet of glass" and the other side would warn about "foreign entanglements".

"You are talking about politics." >>> yes, indeed, that's why i posted the question under that subject. But these days politics affect almost every aspect of our lives, and not just locally but globally. We should, perhaps must, be able to sort out facts from spin, I think.

    Thanks for your contribution.

Honestly, I don't think most would care.

In my opinion, most Americans side with Israel because of the "Jesus connection". Nothing more, nothing less.

    1. "I don't think most would care." would appear to be unfortunately true.

    2. "most Americans side with Israel because of the "Jesus connection"" >>> I think you're right again. But would Jesus side with them or would he be more likely to side with the increasing number of Jews who distance themselves from the path Israel has taken over the decades? Some of these Jews belong to The Jewish Voice for Peace https://jewishvoiceforpeace.org/

    1) I know. :(

    2) None of us can really say for sure, but the Jesus I grew up believing would weep at many of the things done in his name. There is such a lack of LOVE in the hearts of so many who proclaim themselves Christians. It has most definitely caused many of us to distance ourselves. :|

I think the Jesus I know through my studies too "would weep at many of the things done in his name" It is probably to such "Christians" that the lament of Jesus reported in Matthew 15:9 applies, “But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men”

Propaganda site. If it were balanced when giving the history it would not be leaving out the attacks by the Arab people before Israel became a country. It only speaks of Jewish attacks but none of the Arab people attacks there.  Both sides did terror attacks.

    Propaganda.

    1. M2C Maybe the site says things you don't like to know, but would that be a good reason to dismiss it as a "Propaganda site" It's more sensible but of course much, much harder to check out the claims in the website. In a blatantly propaganda site one claim followed by the next will be untrue.

    2. However, on its very first page the website we're talking about gives the deaths of children since September 29, 2000, and the first figure is that 134 Israeli children have been killed by Palestinians and it then says 2,167 Palestinian children have been killed by Israelis. What's more, as a sign of its attempt to be impartial the figures it quotes were collected by B'Tselem - The Israeli Information Center for Human Rights.

    3. Now you may be wanting the Jews to be gathered in Jerusalem for Jesus to deliver judgement on them in his second coming. However, the majority of Jews do not live in Jerusalem and do not want to live there. When they were persecuted in Europe in the Middle Ages many preferred Arab Muslim countries where they were welcome and flourished. In the 20th century those fleeing Germany preferred the USA than going to Palestine however when they started arriving there in large numbers the USA closed its doors on them in 1924.

There was another page talking about the  history of the region....it did not mention any of the attacks by the Arab people there on of the new Zionists who had come to the land.

    1. I am not connected with the site and I cannot, of course, speak for everything in it. Your criticism is that "it did not mention any of the attacks by the Arab people there on of the new Zionists who had come to the land." i have not looked into that alleged omission so it would not be right for me to comment on that.

    2. However, whereas you might think people who are in real danger of being made homeless and their homes being taken over permanently should passively allow that to happen I think people everywhere, for example, America, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa to mention but a few, have fought those who have come to their shores in large numbers intent on taking over and settling there as if THEY were the owners.

    3. I don't think the website itself is a Palestinian website. I think it's the brainchild of Alison Weir an American who I guess is either Christian or from a Christian background. She is a rare voice among Americans. She looked into the widely pushed popular narrative against the Palestinians and found it morally reprehensible in its portrayal of the oppressed and dispossessed people as the aggressor in furtherance of that oppression and dispossession. She decided to expose the truth. Whether Alison Weir is Christian or not is not really important but what she has done is very much Christlike. Jesus stood up against oppression and in John 8:32 is reported to have spoken in favour of finding out the truth because knowing "the truth shall make you free”

    1. Well that is what I read.
    2. The question is Why, did Israel tear down the homes? Because the resident of home was a terrorist.
    3. Her background does nt matter to me. The content of her site is not balanced. This post was edited by my2cents at November 5, 2017 5:25 PM MST

    1. In your point #2 you say that Israel tears down the homes "Because the resident of home was a terrorist." we won't go into the question of "terrorist" according to whom, but I assume that according to you that is what Jesus would approve of? Is that what happens to the homes of terrorists in America and other countries?

    2. Regarding your point #3 there are Jews who strongly disagree with the injustices committed by Israelis. Does that make their views unbalanced?

    3. If you and your family were living in a nice house for many generations and I was to suddenly appear at your doorstep with my family fully armed, take over your home and confined you and your family to a shed at the bottom of your garden would you be celebrating the event every year and showing me gratitude?

    "my2cents" is quite right.

Perhaps it would be helpful to consider an example incident:

The following four sources relate to the murder of 13 year old Israeli girl Hallel Yaffa Ariel on June 30, 2016, and the consequential order by the Israeli Supreme Court to partially-demolish the home of her suspected Palestinian murderer Muhammad Nasser-Tarayrah:

Picture of murdered 13 year old Israeli girl, Hallel Yaffa Ariel:

“Israeli girl, 13, fatally stabbed in her bedroom in West Bank” [June 30, 2016], The Guardian:
    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/jun/30/israeli-girl-13-stabbed-bedroom-west-bank-kiryat-arba

“13-year-old Israeli girl stabbed to death in her bedroom” [June 30, 2016],
    The Telegraph:
    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/06/30/13-year-old-israeli-girl-stabbed-to-death-in-her-bedroom/

Israeli Supreme Court orders demolition of the house of Muhammad Nasser-Tarayrah:
    https://www.timesofisrael.com/supreme-court-approves-home-demolition-of-kiryat-arba-terrorist/

As the reader will have observed from this example, which is fairly typical for Palestinian terrorism, it can be seen that the Palestinians target Jewish children for ethnicity, just like the Nazis used to do.

Supporting anti-Semitism is anti-Semitism: The Palestinian Education Authority in the Palestinian Territories teaches Holocaust-Denial and admiration of the Nazis:

“Palestinian protesters carry a transparent kite defaced with a swastika ... [Gaza border] - [AFP/Getty Images].”:
    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5638821/Palestinian-women-standing-men-protests-likely-shot-at.html

Remember, to qualify to be murdered by a “Palestinian” Arab you must be Jewish and there is no lower age restriction. A reward-pension is then paid to the family of the terrorist out of “The Palestinian Authority Martyrs Fund”. Part of this funding is French and German government money who launder it through the “European (Union) Commission”, as: “humanitarian aid”.

Palestinian joy at the murder of civilians, extends also to the United States of America - please see source for Palestinian reaction to 9/11:

Contributor "CLURT" wrote: "B'Tselem - The Israeli Information Center for Human Rights."

    My response:
B'Tselem is a Palestinian Arab mouthpiece propaganda website and some examples of its propaganda-output are exposed here:
    "[Heading:] UNDERSTANDING B’TSELEM’S “APARTHEID” LIBEL":
    https://www.camera.org/article/understanding-btselems-apartheid-libel/

By the way, it is an immoral concept to claim that Israel is responsible if there are more casualties on the “Palestinian” Arab side, due to Israel successfully preventing deaths among its citizens, when attacked by the “Palestinian” Arabs.

For legal reasons the following are general comments about biased websites ...

Pro-"Palestinian" Arab "propaganda-comfort-websites" are where pro-Palestinians, "Palestinian" Arabs, anti-Semites, and Neo Nazis, tend to go, for the comfort of having their anti-Semitic falsehoods against Israel and their revisionist-history reinforced by false non-verifiable propaganda.

Here "Comfort" means reinforcing unverifiable and prejudiced-opinion or mass-produced propaganda, within a comfort-zone that avoids: Factual-information supported by objective-sources.

"Palestinian" Arab "propaganda-comfort websites" being by their very nature, Not-objective, their content is likely to be both Unverifiable, and Untrustworthy.
