Yes, I actually do. Democracy is mob rule. I prefer what the USA has a Constituational Republic. This post was edited by my2cents at November 17, 2017 6:37 PM MST

Really? Tell that to black people who were lynched.
People who have been attacked for political beliefs. Businesses who were destroyed because the mob was mad about the actions of a police officer.
No. Mob rule is not good for any thing.

  • For small communities.  Small communities are best let to define themselves and those who don't like or fit in go find one they do.

See here?  Don't  y'all come 'round here thinking y'all can change things. We the old guard and what we say is what is. Don't like it get? hit the bricks.

Why should users have the ability to remove a user who is following the rules here?

  • To create  a community and have a site that reflects the common ways and wants for the site.  To bring users together and give a site direction.  I think all social media sites would benefit from such a policy of self policing and user driven progression and rule.

When someone or some rule is unwanted or bothered by a rule or user and the vote says say 79% of users agree then the cancer can be removed.
What's the downside for the great good?

Not everyoe agrees with the direction some users would take the site. We all enjoy different topics and have different ideas of the direction and we all have the opportunity to steer it the way we want as long as it is within the TOS.

  • Democracy exist ion other areas besides government and politics.

Clubs and organizations tend to be based on democratic models for example.  The most useful and popular ones ion fact.  No one wants to join a club that is run like a dictatorship.

I have been in several groups. They all had their rules which members were expected to follow. If you did not then there could be a vote on the member remaining.

  • Exactly, most any group opr club also allows the members to vote people ouit because of dislike or strong disagreement.

Complete and unchecked inclusiveness just means no principles and no standards.

No, you have to stay.   Really almost everyone is a keeper in my mind.....except one.  There used to be three but two of them left of their own will.  There have been groups which I found sort of irritating but I'm kind of different and have to remember I"m older than a lot of folks here too, so I keep that in mind when a post calls me to sweet sarcasm.  But I"m always honest.
