Is the bird on the back of a U.S dollar bill an eagle or meant to be a phoenix by the pointed feather at the back of the head?

  • It's an Eagle.  I don't get what looks like a typical phoenix image about it.

  • Nothing about it looks like a typical Phoenix representation.

What the heck are you doing?  Patting me on head?

That was zero help here.  I don't think I have any money on hand.  Isn't it a Pyramid with an eye?  Where is the damned eagle again?
Oh yeah.  There he is on the right side.  Boy I am very unobservant about money art.

    What was the question again?

Okay, I agree it is an eagle and always meant to be one now that I have found this..

I wonder how this symbol feels about the Trump family and their disgraceful stand on endangered species and hunting for sport.

  • Bald Eagles aren't endangered.  They are on the least concerned list.

No, silly.  I meant the endangered species darling Eric and bro killed in Africa and smiled proudly into the camera in the big, mean jungle as well as their sickening trophy room.

So proud.  So brave.  Such disgusting morons.

And Bald Eagles, if not endangered now, most certainly were in the not-too-distant past.  They are fishing from polluted streams that cause issues with damaged eggs.  The shell is soft and cannot protect the dwindling numbers of babies.  Etc.  Etc.  But they have killed a nice cheetah.  I know we are not supposed to just kill them, unless you happen to be a millionaire giving money to the right folks.

  • No I know.  Just saying.

You know I'm a meat eating hunter, fisherman, and trapper.   Trophy hunting disgusts me though.

Exactly.   I see honor in a hunt if it is done with respect.  I don't see you butchering for the hell of it and killing more than you need.  No babies I hope.  Don't kill a new mother.  You know.  Be humane and respectful and I'm not judging.

I think that must be fresh and awesome.   But, I must put that behind me personally.

I can certainly understand why people do not agree with me.  There are many opinions and none of them are strictly right or wrong.

  • Yep., The only trophies I take are the hides and racks of what I'm gonna eat.

I accept a legit argument that culling any herd of weak and old animals can help it's population and genetic strength.   It's a fact and even regulated trophy hunting can help with that. Ultimately though it doesn't hold weight to me to legitimize the mentality of killing for the strict sake of killing or to kill to have a decoration alone. I can see both sides to a point but I ultimately fall onto the side it's silly and wrong way about it.

Aye, agreed. The eagle represents the Edomite nations.. Spain, Germany, France, the U.S etc..

Isn't it ironic how closely ego and eagle are linked here?

One can certainly be substituted for the other.

    Profound.
