I hurt

my dad passed away several days ago

as far as I know, only two people on the site knew

i'm rather out of it

this song "It All Came Back Today" by Tanita Tikaram is soothing my soul as I type; I love this song -- don't even know what's it's about after all these years but I still love it; and I love Tanita Tikaram

may I share the song?

Thank you, tom jackson, I'll appreciate those thoughts. A rough go of it lately for me.
I also appreciate your thought about grieving at my own pace and in my own way - -

It is indeed "your" grief.  No one can tell you what method or amount of time is appropriate for you.

I am sorry for your hurt. When my mother died I was just glad to be rid of her.

Thanks for your kindness, Jewel Vern.
    :)

About your mom, I'm sure that can happen, too. I hope you and her together wasn't too painful.

No, not painful, she just didn't know how to act like a mother. Her mother died before she was 3 and she was raised by a sister. I was over 50 before anybody told me that.

Oh so sorry to hear that news.  I lost mine many years ago.  Hope you both had many good times together you'll always have forever.  When we become older we lose more and more people but funny they still live in our memory.  Bless you. I am sorry for your loss. He must have been a pretty good dad, because from what I can see, you turned out to be a very good person.

I'm humbled very much by your words, JaneS. Thank you. It's funny -- when my mom gets "down," I find myself often telling her that she and Dad together helped each other raise two of the nicest people I've ever known in this world - - my brother and my sister. Maybe I should think of adding myself, too, maybe.

My heart goes out to you!! I am so sorry for your loss. Your father rests now, to never suffer. He is guaranteed the resurrection in the coming new world under the messianic kingdom. (John 5:28,29)you can meet him there. It's only a matter of a short while and this world will be totally transformed. Gone will be all suffering. The last enemy death will be gone forever, and no one will ever experience the pain of losing a loved one to death. You're so very welcome! I just recently lost my dad also, previously my husband of almost 40 years. The hope of the earthly resurrection as promised in the sacred bible has been what has kept me going. Especially knowing that this prophecy will soon come to pass. A man of God once said: "If a man dies, can he live again. I will wait all the days of my compulsory service until my relief comes. You will call, and I will answer you. You will long for the work of your hands. (Job 14:14,15) believe these words, they are faithful and true! (Revelation 21:5)and may this hope comfort you and rest in your heart too!I This post was edited by Autumnleaves at February 7, 2018 8:34 AM MST

Thanks, Kittigate. I'm sorry it's taken a while to respond -- and, at that, this is not much of a response. I'm still having some rough times adjusting to changes.

Sorry for you loss WelbyQuentin. I lost my stepdad about 6 months ago and my birth dad about a month ago.

Here is an article that I studied this past week that helped comfort me with scriptures involving the promised resurrection.

“I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.” (John 11:20-24)

I am so sorry Welby.  I have lost both parents in the last few years and I still grieve.  I don't have any wonderful words except I get it.  Sunday was my Mom's birthday and I cried most of the day.  Time softens the blow, but it's a slow process that is so personally painful.

Just know you are not alone.  Glad you shared it here.  Hugs.

I was going through my past questions to look for something - -

and I came across this question I had posted

in case anyone sees this answer here - -

With regret on my end, I admit I don't even remember asking this question a year-and-a-half ago. I don't remember responding to all of the answers and comments, either. I don't remember a lot about that time, a year-and-a-half ago. I'm sorry. But I thought I'd share anyway.

And all of you who responded were so kind to me, thank you!
    :)

    Be Well
