I cook my own meals, put the clothes in the washer, run my car through the car wash and wipe it myself.  I sweep and mop my floors all by my lonesome.

I can't stand how everything feels that been washed in dishwashers...... Everything is covered in a film of chemicals and we readily eat if them and put forks and spoons into our mouths....
Dishwasher tabs is one if the most dangerous chemicals in most people's houses.....
Activated with water it will eat through your skin in fifteen minutes....l

Babies and young children have been known to swollow it with dire consequences ...

We have and use a dish washer ,but rinse well everything before its out away....

I think Sweden did a survey and they linked it to autism in children   ...

I am in the mountains of Ecuador right now.  We don't have a dishwasher, I hand-washed my socks and undies this week, and every night I build a fire in the wood burning stove to keep us warm.  The only video we watch is what we can find on the internet.  Also we don't have a car so we use public transportation.  It took most of the day today to go to the store and buy some chicken.  We had to walk part of the way back, up hill in the rain, because the road was too slippery for bus travel. Then a nice Ecuadorian camposino offered to give us a lift most of the way.  Every morning I wake up to the sound of roosters crowing and cows mooing.  This is a nice break from the new-fashioned way.

WoW!  That is cool.  I'm afraid handwriting might become a lost art.  I bet yours is beautiful. :) :)

Formerly I used to write long letters pretty regularly almost daily.  And I have kept most of those written to me going back over 40 years.  Sadly the net has put an end to that in the last ten years or so.

I used to love getting those letters from my old high school friend.  We are on FB together now and ironically don't share the long dialogues anymore.  I miss a lot of things before the internet.

Very true.  We could feel things through letters we cannot over the net.

I think handwritten "thank yous" and letters are so much more personal and enjoyable.  I still send things snail-mail to my parents, sister and friends.  I think the personal touch is nice.  Printing and typing has taken over the beauty of this soon to be lost art. :( This post was edited by Merlin at February 7, 2018 10:37 AM MST

I love to write and miss having anyone to write to.  Most people are too busy.

Oh still do those. That is how we were brought up.  Not that my writing or what it contained was ever anything of beauty!

Letters are like keepsakes.  I kept everyone that I ever got.  I treasure them like photos.
