Hummus, muhamara, baba ganoush, beans, cheese and slightly wilted spinach, tahini, fish spread, olive spread (tapenade), dried tomatoes, tomato or tomatillo salsas, bruschetta spreads. For starters.

You bring out the best Nutello in all of us, honey.  Combine the two and we could have a nutty jam on our toast!  Pretty cream cheesy, don't you think? This post was edited by Merlin at February 9, 2018 6:07 PM MST

Whatever you say, baby. I don't understand a word of it, but I sure do like it when you talk.

What am I toasting?  What kind of bread?

Homemade white bread?   Just butter.  On toast.  Yum.

I also like to do a pizza with a split English Muffin, then sauce and cheese under the broiler.   Toast the muffin first.  Then top it and put it in broiler.  Then top with grated cheese.

Rye bread does good with butter and jelly or peanut butter and jelley.

HOW TO MAKE A GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH

    1. Choose an artisan bread that you like. If you don't know any artisan breads, choose sourdough. Do not for any reason get stuck working with plain white loaf bread.

    2. Choose a cheese from this chart:

    3. Assemble the sandwich.

    4. Now here is the trick: spread the outside faces with mayonnaise.

    5. Fry at a slightly higher temperature than you would use for butter. Watch closely to turn when the color is perfect.

This may sound trivial, but a lot of people are going to want to know how you got such perfect toast.
