  • I understand their frustration. Mass shootings are becoming more frequent and more deadly. People want a fix, even if there is no one easy fix. We can blame guns, mental health, violent video games, parents, etc. but it's the result of a complex combination of factors that we can't fix in a day. Still, bringing lawmakers' attention to it, letting them know that we are not accepting this as the "new normal" can't hurt. Maybe some day when mass shootings become a daily affair there will be something done. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at February 19, 2018 3:18 PM MST

Of course.   Why does it take so many tragedies to get people riled and on their feet?   NO MORE of this, Trump BASE.  NO MORE.

Evangelicals praise the idea of NO ABORTION to the skies and yet they have guns so sickos like these can get out there and shoot up a mess of kids.

Because the 2nd Amendment is GOD to them.

I don't think guns should be elminated.  I think that it should be a LOT harder to get one in the first place and I think there needs to be serious legal action taken about gun control NOW.

If it gets done, it is not because Trump was going to do a thing.  But good news if it does happen.

    Thanks, Lulu.

He may feel to get his voting base back up he will need to do it. But like you said, as long as it gets done that is all that matters.

Yes.  I just hate the fact that this matter is up against any wall at all.

    Just do it, people.

  • Yes. You should not have to go to school and fear losing your life.

People really need to sit up and take notice about what has happened since 1999.

An ongoing Washington Post analysis has found that more than 150,000 students attending at least 170 primary or secondary schools have experienced a shooting on campus since the Columbine High School massacre in 1999. That figure, which comes from a review of online archives, state and federal enrollment figures and news stories, is a conservative calculation and does not include dozens of suicides, accidents and after-school assaults that have also exposed youths to gunfire.

My son and his girlfriend are home-schooled. If they stage a walkout, they aren't getting back in. lol

In general, though, yes. I support this.

Home-schooling was very popular where I lived and several of us parents were involved in it. We even did field trips and made it fun for the kids.
    Thanks for your response JA.

When you lock them out, I want their rooms. Just think how much happier  you'll be when only have to make sandwiches for me instead of the two of them. (Remember, hold the mayo!)

“In 1975, in the United States, there were 1,289 suicides among males and 305 suicides among females aged 15 to 19 years,” the authors wrote. “In 2015, there were 1,537 suicides among males and 524 among females aged 15 to 19 years.”

But nobody cares because guns were not involved.

I support it. I think it is okay for a person to own a gun, but the assault rifles should only be used by our military
