It worked for mass shootings but you assaults and rape increased. (No defense for the victims---sitting ducks)

The curve actually flattened and the vics weren't packing heat beforehand. Handguns are still legal in some circumstances. Nobody owned them.
Nobody but the military has any need for military-style assault weapons. Or high-cap magazines. A 9mm pistol and clip with five in it is more than adequate for "self-defense". Those weren't a significant part of the buyback, because nobody owned them to begin with.

Not according to the AU gov. They increased...not flattened.

Australia assaults (40%) are up and sexual assaults (20%) are up as as well. Think that has anything to do with disarming victims?

Homicide has decreased by nine percent since 1990 and armed robbery by one-third since 2001, but recorded assaults and sexual assaults have both increased steadily in the past 10 years by over 40 percent and 20 percent respectively. The rate of aggravated assault appears to have contributed to the marked rise in recorded assault, and for both assault and sexual assault the rate of increase was greater for children aged under 15 years, with increases almost double that of the older age group.

Notice the source in my link is the Australian government.

Nothing at all to do with "disarming" people who weren't packing heat. Very safe bet, Australia has never had the love that the US has for firearms. They were never armed in the first place.
My wife carries an aerosol can of insect repellent in her handbag. Perfectly legal, works better than mace in the eyes and nobody has ever been killed with one.

It does not matter if they were or were not packing heat. The criminals did not know for certain if their potential victim was not packing.  By passing a law disarming everyone.....this lets the criminal know their victim is not packing heat. Effectively making them a sitting duck for a perp who can look at a smaller weaker victim and know they have no virtually no defense. As the stats show.

Just as anti-gun people here , became upset when a list of homes with register gun owners was illegally released. It told the criminals which houses were undefended. This post was edited by my2cents at July 12, 2020 8:12 PM MDT

You just don't get it, do you? Get the US flag out of your eyes for a second. THEY. WERE. NEVER. ARMED. We don't have the gung-ho mentality you Yanks do. Never did.

You do not have to all be armed to have the possibility of being armed. Your laws eliminated that possibility.

UK same thing happened when then they banned their guns. Their crime increased.

I am not looking at it with a American Flag...I am looking at facts.

Sandy Hook. Lanza was Asperbeger's af and shouldn't have been allowed within a bull's roar of a firearm. He stole his mother's - who had NO NEED to own assault rifles.

  • His mother took him to the range to shoot . He knew and planned that killing ,
after he killed his own mother , destroyed the p.c. and went to a no gun zone .
Where he knew he would not find any opposition .
