It would all depend on whether it was mine or someone elses.

My first reaction is usually to take that person down a peg the first chance I get.

    I would outarrogance them.

  • I usually start out mocking the hail out of them, then...well, that's really all it takes. :P

  • I work with someone who is very arrogant. I really dislike him for many reasons and I make it known I can’t stand him. I tell him he sucks and I constantly correct his behavior, even the most minor mistakes he makes because I know he hates it. I dont think I would mind the arrogance if he was actually good at the job, but he’s not so it’s unfounded and that’s what pisses me off.

Give it no fuel. If arrogance gets in my path, confront it, step on it, continue on my path.

In other people?  I go along with it and feed it.  Give them enough rope and eventually they will hang themselves.

I don't need to handle it. I'm just gifted like that. I know the rest of you can't understand it, but arrogance simply doesn't touch me--never has; never will.

(Let me clarify that's a joke, just in case, although I do reckon many arrogant people either don't recognize it in themselves or don't view it as negative.)

Perhaps you could say there but for the grace of God go I and simply accept it.

Alternatively you could feed their arrogance, gently, subtly and respectfully at first. Then, over time ratchet it up one notch at a time until the point is passed when it becomes only too apparent that you are merely toying with them. You could then, if you are of such a mind, continue to increase the intensity of the treatment until the arrogant one either goes away or suffers a mental breakdown from which he may possibly emerge a reformed character with nicer nature. (But not likely I think).

That wastes too much time.  People who are that arrogant need to be cut down to size ASAP.

Spunky is not arrogant, she is just honest and does not suffer fools.

  • And yet there is that word "fool" again, as well as the presumption to talk down on someone.

  • I take it slinging that word around really doesn't bother you at all.
