    "Tintinnabulation"

~ I've only heard it in Edgar Allen Poe's poem "The Bells" -- and I just read that he had invented the word. Though the resources to back the claim up I didn't look for. This post was edited by WelbyQuentin at March 7, 2018 9:55 PM MST

Madam, if you think Berbers are so damned adorable how come you didn't award me (with the stroke of a sylph-like finger) a 'like'?

AYE-AYE - A species of Lemur familiar to all for its exceptionally long fingers.
Which reminds me of the old-time British comedian who joked:
What I want to know is, what do they do with the rest of the fish after they cut the fingers off?
    (Once heard, never forgot.)

  • This phenomenon is called reduplication. Specifically, exact reduplication.

Mama, papa, tam-tam (a type of gong), tom-tom, beriberi, a lot of hyphenated childish words: choo-choo, no-no, bye-bye, etc.

Tutu, titi (a small monkey from South America),  dada, nana. There are lots of them. And we shan't forget aa, a type of lava rock. This post was edited by Element 99 at March 7, 2018 9:57 PM MST
