    I'm not trying to be flash while answering this blinking question....I would always wait to cross the road safely to not impede the Zebra crossing ... :)

    Check out Leslie Hore-Belisha....he was the Minister of a Transport and he was responsible for installing them all back in 1934.... :)

    It was named after Leslie Hore-Belisha (1893–1957), the Minister of Transport who in 1934 added beacons to pedestrian crossings, marked by large metal studs in the road surface. These crossings were later painted in black and white stripes, thus are known as zebra crossings.

    Well I think they should move all the zebra crossings outside of town. There is no good reason to have all those zebras coming into town just to cross the road.
