Do driverless cars creep you out?

They do me. Something's not right about it.

It's like an airplane with no pilot.  I ain't getting in there.

I don't trust them. I felt that way before one struck and killed a pedestrian here a couple months back.

The concept just seems weird, incredibly weird --  and terribly sad in the case you share.

Aww I knew something like that would happen. I don't know how anyone can have such a blind faith in technology. I mean, I love computers and all, but they have a habit of bugging out, crashing, causing trouble like the time I had to redo a research paper in college because of my silly computer being dumb. At leas my computers can't really kill anyone if they freak out..unless someone's dumb enough to get themselves electrocuted, but that's not the computer's fault..

I wouldn't trust one.  The more technology "advances," the less we use our brains.  If you think I'm wrong, take a look at all the zombies walking around staring at their iPhones who are totally oblivious of their surroundings.

I just don't trust them, I'll stick to my cute little guy that I control over. What I really hate about that picture is that you'll have to sit there staring at the person right across from you and they're so uncomfortably close, how awkward..

The automation of every aspect of life as directed by the Technocrats in control of everything terrifies me. What will all the people who can't be nurses, engineers, and computer programmers be? Even some of those jobs will be automated. No jobs will be left. Maybe we can become food for robots in an automat.

I hope it doesn't get to that point.

"So you've got four passengers in your lovely Mercedes driverless car ... which one gets the traffic ticket?"

So you'd be the "designated undriver."  Leave me your business card ... I'll be calling you. :) This post was edited by ALF at July 12, 2018 8:23 AM MDT

What if the driverless car doesn't stop for the police?

What if the driverless car doesn't stop for the police and it has no passengers?

What if the driverless car stops for the police and it has no passengers and it carries illegal drugs and guns in the trunk?

If driverless cars ever catch on ... I'm sure your option #3 will happen.

What happens when a driverless car, with no passengers, gets a flat tire and a driverless tow truck comes to fix it?

    I don't think we're ready for this. :(

To me, driverless cars are stupid more than something that creeps me out.
