We have had 3 (5yr, 10yr and 20yr) and I have not attended any. I did not get along with most of them so really don't see a need. There is maybe 3 people I would like to see.

As far as I know, they've never had a reunion for my high school.  I graduated 55 years ago and it isn't likely I would recognize anyone at this point.

Were they fun?  Did you all compare what you had chosen as professions?  Did your friends still have hair?  Did the women look better now or then?  Did they remember you?  Did you stay in touch after?  A bit nosy I am, hu? Big smiles!  I think it is interesting to see how people have grown and changed.

They were fun. I showed up in my Navy Dress Uniform for one of them. Sorry, I couldn'd find a picture of one.

I went to one at 15 years and it was fun.  I was supposed to go to one in 2010 but the week before I was invited to meet up with two Answerbag friends in Atlanta and I chose to go to Atlanta even though I had paid for the reunion.  I was not regretful.  We had a blast!

If my class ever held a HS reunion, they conveniently forgot to invite me.   No problem, as even after all these years the feeling is still mutual.

If you get the opportunity I hope you will go.  People are not the same as they were in high school usually.  I am now close friends with some people I never got to know at all back in school.

Get that "nobody likes me" chip off of your shoulder; it can weigh you down and keep you from being happy.  Be happy.

Oh, there's no chip.  I was just kidding.   Over the past 10 or so years, I've met several people from my HS class; I've even worked with a few.

I have not gone to any of mine.  We did, however, go to Don's 40th HS Reunion.  I didn't know anyone but Don.  Still, we had a great time.  :) :)

  • "No" ... I have a strange feeling that there hasn't been one.

  • I fear they've lost their novelty among people of my generation. We can follow each other on social media: no great surprises. I'll already know what everyone looks like and what they're doing.

I guess I'd go. I was pretty invisible in high school, though.

I never would.... I feel quite strongly about it.. School wasn't the best experience for me.. I did well and managed to avoid being bullied but there were a lot of people more than willing to make unpleasant comments because I wore glassed...I've no wish to see them again...

Of the nicer people, the friends etc... again, right or wrong, I feel that if we had a friendship that was worth anything then we'd still be friends.. and as we aren't then again I don't feel the need to see them..

I do remember being invited to a reunion. I bumped into someone in town once years after I left school.. She asked me to go. She seemed keen on the idea.. But it really wasn't something I'd enjoy.

I've no strong feelings about people who like that... it's just not for me..

No, but my wife does... We both graduated from the same school, the same year in the 50's...

Usually, the reunion encompasses a 15-year period... This post was edited by Beans/SilentGeneration at September 1, 2018 11:46 PM MDT

No one from my class planned one, the last time I checked 20 years ago.
I guess if the Vietnam war didn't get them, drugs did. Additionally many moved to Canada to avoid the Vietnam war.

As far as I'm aware. No one has planned the 10 year reunion  that was suppose to be this year. I think school reunions  are going out of style if u know what I mean. I wouldn't go even if they paid me lol This post was edited by Skunky Stinkerson at September 1, 2018 1:07 PM MDT

That says a lot about your generation.  But you all could just meet on a Facebook group it would be all good.  NO it wouldn't.  I encourage you to forge real relationships now while you are still young.  That means actually being in the same room with and looking at and speaking with people face to face.  Why don't you get the ball rolling on the reunion?

Hi Skunky~ (happy dance to see you!)  I think they are going out of style too.  People aren't so interested in what others have done in their lives and people don't stay in the same town as they went to high school in as much.  There is the home and charter schooling, too, that makes high school reunions a bit difficult.  Educating each other has taken on a different style.
As you can see, I didn't attend mine either.  I like to  remember people as I knew them.  I don't want mess with my past.  I have great memories.
