"You Stop My Heart." I think the occasion, like most, could use a light touch.

"We Be Burning" if I'm cremated, though.

Oh yes, and then there's Aaliyah's "Can I Come Over" should I become a ghost. Thank you, Rosie, and Happy Thursday!

One Gun by 54/40.  Because it is about a defining moment in Canada's history plus the band is from BC. Cheers!

Maybe just have this one song played, along with this exact youtube video -- I love the illustration and the video contains the song lyrics.
And maybe just have this song comprise the entire (and very, very short) service -- no talking by anyone or anything. Just the song. Let everyone just watch and listen. I think the song sums up things pretty well.

    "On My Way Home"  Enya

I've truly never thought about it... I can remember very well having, 'Little white bull' by Tommy Steele played at my mum's funeral... people were very surprised!  But those who knew her, knew exactly why I chose it.. it was a song she would sing and make people laugh with..

You probably won't have time or inclination to play all the songs mentioned here but this one, if you do hear it, is very unusual... Tommy Steele was a London actor  - famous back in the 60s, he apparently lived across the the street from my Nan and mum when my mum was a very little girl.  I am not sure if that's why she loved it, or just because it was a silly, and back in more innocent times, funny song

If it were for me maybe I would have Simon and Garfunkle's sound of silence

    Ode to Joy might work.

Staged this way would be cool:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxLbmnvMWM0

And then I would exit the church kind of like the Delorian in the "Back to the Future movie.

(I cannot stop chuckling about such a scene.)

None. No funeral. Med students get to slice me and dice me. When they're done my family can have me buried at sea from a US Naval vessel.
I'm not sure but they might play 'Taps'.
