What was the most rebellious thing you did as a teenager or young adult? What were you rebelling against?

I was the first one in the school's history to wear blue jeans and a tee shirt. It caused quite a buzz, but there was no dress code. I wasn't really rebelling against anything, I just wanted to be different.

Probably perfect proof of one of the best ways to reduce rebellion; provide as much freedom as possible.

Not sure exactly how old you are.
Were jeans the symbol of laborers back then, or had they already become a widespread fashion?

I am 67. We didn't have a lot of money and jeans were cheap.

Was always curious - what is goth all about?
Does goth have a philosophy, set of beliefs &/or values, way of life?

"Edgelord" is a new term to me - suggest someone in leadership on the fringes of bohemian or non-mainstream society.

I had a student who looked like this. They no-so-politely kicked her out of a Catholic school.

Just doing a service,  not really being rebellious.. I found out I could order condoms through the mail on pretense that I was adult and selling them to the guys in school  'Everybody' wanted a couple mostly I think just to show off and have fun blowing them up.
Had to quit doing that when I got a warning. This was in early 60's. I was just ahead of my time, now there are condom vending machines in high schools.

Yeah...It was kind of a status symbol back then to have that circular pattern on your rear pocket.

So you were a precocious entrepreneur, hey?
Did it lead to you later going into business - adult shops maybe?

No never got interested in selling adult toys kind of stuff at all but I had been in business selling magazine subscriptions, all-occasion cards, 5 year guarantee light bulbs,  etc. door to door. Getting into selling condoms was a bit of a fluke.

'Course I should have and I think I would have but back then we were still getting rum issue and that -I think helped me develop addiction to alcohol and getting in trouble.. Anyway I got out of the Navy after 9 years -before I was kicked out.
I finally quit booze about 3 1/2 years ago because I 'had enough'  could not enjoy doing booze anymore after about 45 years.
