I was thinking of the shower scene from the movie "The Grudge" ... but "South Pacific" works, too.

Depends on the situation. Usually I let it go within a few months.

Not long.  Just as fast as I can shake it off.

I dont have the necessary attention span to hold a grudge. That would take focus to stay mad, something I have very little of.

Until it gets either too hot or too heavy.

I am sure I've never held one.  I'm not even sure how to spell it. :) :)

I'm a butterfingers.  Everytime I try to hold a grudge I drop it.  It's getting so that no one will even give me a grgue anymore.

Depending upon the severity of what happened, it can be a lifetime.

    Until I die.
I cut off from that person and do whatever is necessary to avoid all further contact.
So it's never over something trivial.
Fortunately, the occasions in my life when it's been necessary have been rare.

I forgive a transgression only if the offender understands the hurt or harm done, genuinely regrets their action and is unlikely to deliberately repeat it.

I regard this as pragmatic self-protection. This post was edited by inky at October 10, 2018 9:40 AM MDT

I don't hold a grudge, I just become that much more careful the next time.

  • That depends on how much damage was done to my relationship with the person.  Sometimes a few years, sometimes forever.  But even for the forever category, I mostly never think of the person again as they are no longer important to me.

  • I will guess about 644.5 seconds.  Seriously though, I let have learned to let it go, which sometimes means cutting them out of my life, depending on the "them" and the offense.

  • Yes, I have.  I cut my brother out for several years.  Now that he is having health issues though, I decided to resolve the issues.  Forgive, but I don't forget, and I made peace.
