  • Four days when we stayed at the Bullock Hotel in Deadwood, South Dakota. I wish it could have been longer.  I'd like to go back and visit more family at some point, and if we do, it will be the Bullock again. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at October 26, 2018 5:15 AM MDT

  • Approximately 90 days.  Had to stay in a hotel for an entire summer with my parents when I was a teen thanks to a house fire.

  • About 3 months, the whole summer of '75.  This is the only picture I've found of it on the entire internet, an old postcard.  That's my dad's boss' car at the office.

Speaking of cars, look at the one that just pulled up under the Motel sign.  I know it says Swiss Chalet but that looks very similar to a hotel we stayed at near the Grand Canyon.

  • It was boring both times I went to your sore butt, donkey-riding-all-the-way-to-the-bottom fun destination. :P

We didn't do the donkey ride, but the Canyon was the most incredible thing I ever saw. (If it was boring, why did you go twice?)

  • When I was young, we had one choice for vacation, Dad's way, Las Vegas, which also sucked because I was too young to gamble and someone had to stay with me at the motel.  Yay, heap big fun. -__- This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at October 26, 2018 5:17 AM MDT

I was not thinking. I have no desire to ever go to LV. I don't gamble, don't like the stupid shows and don't have much fun with my wife. She would just drink all the time. We can do that cheaper here at home.

  • Another reason I never married, the wife might outdrink me and have less severe hangovers. :P

I'm not sure of the exact days and nights.  Don would know but I'm going with at least 2 months in Key West.  We did so with Chance, our German Shepard, Chicago, our black cat with 4 white socks,  Mars, Venus, Pluto, Saturn, Neptune and Mercury, our male betta fish all in 1 gallon individual bowls, and Harry, a Crawfish.  Harry was a pet.  We had no desire to eat him who turned out to be a her.
We were quite the sight since dogs were not allowed.  Let's not even talk about the cat, fish and crawfish.

I have a picture of the maids after our first night.  I wish I could find it.  After the second day and lots of convincing (ahem, ahem) they were good with it.  We were all great friends, even Harry, by the end of our stay.
Oh, they didn't have to come and clean our room.  We just got clean sheets and towels.  I cleaned our room during that time.  They got tipped, handsomely.  :) :) This post was edited by Merlin at October 26, 2018 5:17 AM MDT
