If a person was born on Mars, do you think it would be able to survive on Earth also as well? Would we be interchangeable?

Nyet. Three times normal gravity would be too much for a Martian's bone structure, not to mention the stifling heat and soupy thick atmosphere rich in poisons like oxygen.

So true but what if we went underground where the water is?

That doesn't address the issue of whether a Martian (should such exist) could survive on Earth. The short answer is no.

I don't want to argue but how would we know since we only have the statistics that work if we started here and went there?  If we were born underground there with a controlled climate similar to Earth, we might be able to acclimate to both.

Maybe not.  Like I said.  I don't want to debate.  I've been watching too much of the History channel and Ancient Aliens.   It was just a thought.

Gravity would be the killer. A musculoskeletal system adapted to 0.3G couldn't cope with 1G. Try carrying twice your weight around all day, every day and you might get the idea.

      "It"?

Well "it" wouldn't be called human and we wouldn't call it "Martian." Disney already characterized them. J/K!  Martians are already described.  I don't think we have a name for one born there that can exist on both.  "Marman" maybe?  Nooo. That sounds too BLAH.  I don't know of a name that they already have because I don't know of one.  Who knows?  Maybe "they" do.
That's it!  Maybe they are all the "theys" we keep referring to!!
    Thanks Randy! :)  :)

When you started with "a person", that automatically takes "it" off the table.

I didn't know that.  It makes perfect sense, though.  Thanks Randy!! :) :)

A person is, by definition, human and thus "he or she" is appropriate.

So "it" has no place against the "they" factor either?  "They" is suggesting we are talking about other humans and not martians.
Boy, I really blew it on that whole reach.  You must give me credit for trying! Big smiles!

    Thanks Stu!!

I think it's hard to imagine, too.  I just was wondering what all of you thought.

It seems that many spaced-out people here could be considered as Martians - a hypothetical inhabitant of Mars...

So true.  Maybe I was too spaced-out, literally to be asking these questions last night.  I've been laid up with a HUGE terrible burn on the top of my right foot.  This has allowed me to watch a lot of the History Channel and Ancient Aliens.
I also didn't want answerMug to go an hour without at least one question asked and it looked like it was in a lull at around 2:30 / 3 oclock this morning.  I wanted to make sure it held its outstanding record.
Mars has been pounded into my brain.  It was the logical thing to ask about.
Giggles and smiles.  Thanks Beans! :) :)

Thanks, Merlin for the CA pick.

I read - 'I've been laid up with a HUGE terrible burn on the top of my right foot'. Sorry to read that...
