Why do they keep remaking the Grinch when we already have Boris Karloff narrating and Thurl Ravenscroft singing?

Seriously, none of the other versions come even close . . . that original animated Grinch made-for-TV special ROCKS

Singer Ravenscroft also voiced Tony the Tiger

Yeah, you're probably right. But if they like it, then leave it alone.

I talked to a coworker (college aged) a couple days ago who said that she hated the "cartoon" Grinch...
My heart shrank three sizes that day!

    Mine shrank just reading that.

    Tell she has no taste.

The Original is THE ONLY one!!  PHew on the rest.  Even Jim Carey's version... Sorry dude.  Love ya but Dr. Suess gets the rights on this story and the animation.  Truly a Classic!!  :) :) :) :)

Just thinking of Max pulling the sleigh down the mountain gives me the giggles!!!

Absolutely, without a doubt, one of the best Christmas specials EVER AND EVER to ever be made and will always be that way.  Period. :) :) :) :).

    Definitely.

I do admit Carrey did not ruin the Grinch for me -- he kept his over-the-top-ness under control, I thought. I was dragged to that movie with much dread -- so, I am grateful to Carrey that he kept himself under the top.
But I still didn't like that movie nor his performance. For me, this animated original simply and appealingly shines.

I absolutely love the original. The Grinch with Jim Carrey gets on my nerves. When he's going down the hill to Whoville with the sled and says, it's bitchin' made me want to roll Dr. Suess over myself in his grave.

OMG -- maybe I blanked that bitchin' part out of my head. I don't specifically remember that line. I didn't like that Carrey movie, either. Though I was really surprised that Carrey, to me, didn't do his so-often-schpeel of going WAY over the top. I still didn't like that movie or his performance.
I'm too biased, I admit, for the original.

If I could find the scene and then post it, I would. I have a very deep sentimental spot in my heart for the original and nothing will ever compare.

Was this it? I looked it up. If it is, yeah, I agree with you -- this is annoying.

I love that original way deep down in me, too.

That's it! I tried to find it and did and tried to post it only to fail. Thank you.

The Jim Carrey one is a guilty pleasure of mine..
I still love the original the best though.

Yeah, I dreaded seeing the Carrey movie. To his credit, to me, he wasn't nearly so excessively Carry-ish as I thought he might be with such a role.
