No, banned because of the line, "Hey, what's in this drink?" So are claiming there is a date rape drug in the drink.
Does not work with the context of the song.

Thank you, I guess nothing surprises me any longer in these flamboyant times.  Were those drugs around in the 1940s when that was written?  I am laughing out loud and the ladies I share an office with are wondering what I am finding so funny!  As long as I can remember that has been a cute song that everyone has enjoyed and I read the composer and his wife used to preform it to great acclaim at parties long before it was recorded. Used to be understood that of course men were going to try and "take advantage" of us - that was human nature. Whether we went along or did not was all part of it.  Now I guess we are not even allowed to have the choice.

I've heard of those "date rape drugs" but don't know anyone affected by them. Seems to me they must give hope to only desperate losers.

Banned by whom?  MIKE PENCE and the look for dirty where there is none?   The puritanical Evangelicals will stop at nothing to show their two-faced beliefs.  Imagine entertaining Kanye West swearing up a storm and then freaking out about a little romance between two innocent people in the 50's.  This is 2018.  Give it a rest.  Imagine being shocked at some "please let me stay a little longer" cute love song, when Trump is the most perverted thing ever to enter anyone's TV or radio.

GRAB 'em by the PU$$YMike Pence, but don't listen to that evil influence DEAN MARTIN.

People who make a light and cute song BANNED in this day and age, should not be voting for a LEADER to represent them that is raw dog shagging porn stars.

    Don't make me puke.

As I understand, it is those involved in the #MeToo movement etc, not the evangelicals who are complaining to cause many stations to remove it from their playlist. I have not found anyone as of yet whom agrees with the removal.
Last I heard stations are starting to put it back on.

Er, um, it's the liberal types and the leftists who cried for the ban. Nice rant, though.

    OMG THIS DRIVES ME NUTS.

    first off,

    'IT'S NOT A CHRISTMAS SONG,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,".

WHAT would make it one? certainly not the lyrics!!!!!

people today read way too much into things.

I was 8 yrs. old when the song first came out; it was an Esther Williams movie.....darned if I can think of the title, but think it was "Neptune's Daughter".

anyway, it was done as a regular song between her and I think Fernando Lamas, & then a funny version with Red Skelton & Betty Garrett.

both versions were very well done & enjoyed by audiences of the day..

    so get a grip, people!!

and quiT TREATING IT AS A CHRISTMAS SONG WHEN THERE'S NOT  ONE SINGLE WORD OR LINE IN THE THING THAT HINTS AT A HOLIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree....it is not a Christmas song. But most consider it one. It is played on the Christmas stations.
Question was not meant to debate if it is or is not a Christmas song....that battle was settled long ago. Again, I agree with you.
