What overused expression do you hear so much it irks you?

I swear, if I hear, "I work hard and play harder" one more time, I'm gonna snap. *twitches*

  • The suits at my former employer loved to say "Going forward..."      Well, duh, Suits, any request or changes you decide to make would HAVE to be applied going forward.  

    Also, I cannot stand when people say, "It's the same difference".
    Please for the love of puppies, stop with the "It's simple and easy." 

    I think that's it for now hah.

    "We'll wait and see what happens (or we'll do A and B) and go from there." Go where? And it's not as if you'll be anywhere else that you can go from.

    I thought "It is what it is" would be brought up.

    Though I can understand its potential irksome nature to others, I am standing in support of it. I am someone who can make "more" of a situation than what it actually is. I can start adding things in my head, making  things up, usually of a negative connotation. Then I can start adding potential outcomes to these fabricated scenarios.

    I'm much better at dealing with such illogical mind machinations,

    but "It is what it is"  is sometimes a helpful and healthy 'stop-making-things-up' reminder if I find myself even approaching The Weirdo-Land of Negative Scenarios.

    Maybe it's just me, but "keep it simple sweetie (KISS)" and "don't overthink it" say the same thing but are less hackneyed and annoying.

    In addition to my other reply I just posted, you made me think of a Twenty One Pilots song, "Drive," that I like -- and in it, they sing -- "I've been thinking too much - - help me."

  • Not really a ‘saying’ but the thing that ticks me off most is when people say ‘smile for me’ or ‘you should smile’. I’m usually a happy, positive person but if I feel like being in a mood the odd day, back the faak off and let me.
