    Yes but seldom do as I wish they were pickled in something other than vinegar.

    I prefer herring in cream sauce.  Best part are the onions which have been marinating in the sauce.

    Herring is delicious, and it's right up there  with gefilte fish, whitefish, chopped liver, challah, knishes, brisket, corned beef, pastrami, tongue, noodle kugel, and potato kugel on the list of Jewish soul foods.

    It all depends on what type alcohol its pickled it's self with .......I don't like the ones that Hop Scotch or Brand Y A Gin   :)D
