For those of us who have a middle name, does it have a meaning, or just something your parents made up?

I have two middle names and yes they both have meaning in my family. Most people in my life call me by one of my middle names. Most people don‘t Know my first name, because I don’t use it. 

My middle name is my Mom's first name.

My middle name is Lynn. I don't know why or where it came from. I definitely know where my first name comes from. My dad is doing better and I might ask him that on Saturday.

everyone thinks it's Lynn but thats just part of my first name, or they think i have two middle names 

i dont know where my mom got it from, it's her middle name too tho 

My middle name is my father's first name.

My middle name is from my aunt who has the same middle name.   I think many times middle names mean something to the mother which she never shares with her daughter.

Mine has no significance except it was one my parents liked.  
My husband's middle name is his mother's maiden name.

Interestingly enough .. neither of my parents had middle names .. even though their parents did.  

My first and middle names are taken from the newspaper. I am named after the top graduate from the local high school.

After uncle killed in war. Cuz had same middle name. 

My middle name is Marie.

I doubt that my parents made that up.  

Mine is a family name. Goes back at least 4 generations.

My brother's middle name is H. It's on the birth certificate. It doesn't stand for anything. Mom added it because she figured not having anything at all there might be a problem some day.

I am somehow related to Henry the 8th, so that is also my fathers', grandfathers', great grandfathers', middle name. Now --------------- off with your head!
