Do you believe in evolution or are you a creationist?

A science teacher at one at one of the schools at which I taught refused to teach evolution.

I believe what I believe and it's got nothing to do with evolution or creationism. I'll not explain myself any further.

Evolution. God "created" the Heavens and the Earth by evolution. I read Genesis as parables, it's self-contradictory so you can't take it literally. A day is as a thousand years, a thousand years as a day (2 Peter 3:8). God didn't create the plants and animals either, he told the Earth to do it. "Let the land produce" (Gen 1:11), "Let the Earth bring forth" (Gen 1:24). Nowhere does it say that the planet rested when God did.
Genesis 2 flatly contradicts Genesis 1 - the creation of Eve from Adam's rib doesn't gel with "male and female He created them", this is what happens when you congeal a book from multiple sources and don't proofread (Genesis was NOT written by Moses, it wasn't set in it's final form until the Babylonian exile - from Jahwist, Elohist, Deuteronomist, Priestly and local folklore sources, quite a bit of syncretism from the Babylonian Epic of Gilgamesh etc). I'm a Simulationist.
I believe our reality is nothing more than a computer simulation.

Your argument only holds water for those of us who believe the earth is more than 3,000 years old.
